Erythrocyte

Made of a tractor's tire, this design was introduced during Poznan International Fair in 2007, and also shown during its next edition(the Innovation Days exhibition).

Since then, the design evolved and became more polished, combining elements of Re Design and Low Weight.

I tried to use the minimal amount of materials, keeping in mind functionality and ergonomic form of this piece of furniture. Design consists of three elements: base - tire, shell separating, surface - fabric. The main element and base of the design is a tire, covered with elastic fabric, perfectly complementing flexible qualities of the tire, which adjusts to the shape of the body.

Erythrocyte can be used both indoors and outdoors. It is possible to remove the fabric surface and wash it in a standard washing machine. I manufacture each Erythrocyte myself, in limited series. There are a few colour options of surface material to choose from.

Straw Lamp

Straw Lamp was designed in the modern spirit of Re Design. Its MDF base (made from leftovers of the wood processing) and using energy-saving LED diodes as the light source, makes it a very pro-eco product.I put together a simple and contemporary form with a light "lampshade", created by common straws. Those work like optical fibers, diffusing light from the base. Bending straws allows anyone to change the appearance of the lamp, as well as regulate the intensity and diffusion of light.

In my project, I also thought about the owners' own vision, allowing them to replace default straws with those of their own choice. It encourages personalizing the lamp, playing with ideas and experiment with their own designs.

Straw Lamp was first presented during the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition at Salone Satellite in 2009, where it met with a very positive response. Another presentation took place at Viva LED exhibition, as part of the Poznan International Fair, during the Arena Design. The lamp was also mentioned on a Canadian design portal - mocoloco.com, as well as in a leading Polish design magazine, Dobre Wnetrze, as one of the 20 hit highlights of Poznan's Fair.
